The session highlights Smt. Anagha Dange, Principal of Ahilyadevi Girls School, Pune. The school conducts numerous activities through the eco-club with the aim to bring girls close to nature. One such initiative is the composting of nirmalya - flower and plant refuse from religious practices. Using nirmalya from 2000 households, Dange Madam ensured the recycling of organic matter, reducing stress on the nearby river, setting up vegetable gardens nourished by the resultant compost. 2000 students get engaged in the activity, 2000 households become aware of environmental issues, thereby creating responsible citizens, who are sensitive towards environment.
