This Earth Hour, select an activity from our suggestions below and:
Watch the Match Together: It’s 19 March and it’s also the historic India-Pakistan ICC T20 Match. We wouldn’t want you to miss this one and we would want you to be a part of Earth Hour. So here’s your chance to not miss out and yet do your bit for the planet. Organize a common match screening for all residents of your complex/community and set up your own party. That way you will be using one screen instead of multiple ones- making your residents gel well together!
Have a Moonlight Party: There is nothing more beautiful than a dark night lit only by the moon’s dim rays. Give residents in your area a chance to showcase their talent by bringing out the musicians, the dancers and the artists in them- for this moonlight gathering!
Organize a Yoga Session: Yoga can recuperate the human mind and soul. A healthy body seeks a healthy environment. Invoke love for nature in people by bringing them closer to their ownselves.
Organize an Organic Lunch: Ask an organic café or restaurant to cater for your locality. You can even ask experts in the field to come and speak about the benefits of organic food. Ask other localities to join in your big event!
Screen a Film on Environment: Screen a film a few days in advance in your local community hall.
Least but not the last, don’t forget to tell us what you are doing for Earth Hour 2016. We will ensure that everyone knows about the great things your RWA does for our planet! Choose your category and event, make your pledge and also upload your pictures and videos here.
SPREAD THE WORD
Distribute Earth Hour posters and banners: Spread the ‘switch-off’ message by putting posters and banners in your area. Be the locality with 100 percent switch off numbers!
Wear the Earth Hour T-shirt: Wherever you go, take the movement along with you! Tell your residents and neighbors about some of our quirky Earth Hour merchandise and get them all to buy their special Earth Hour t-shirt here. You can also order t-shirts with your own RWA logo by writing to us and we can get them delivered to you.
Volunteer: Ask children and youngsters in your locality to visit houses and ask people what they plan to do this Earth Hour.
Do you want to take the hour’s symbolism further and create a tangible impact?
Pledge to Go Solar: Adopt rooftop solar and power yourself on solar energy. Do you find asking yourself how going solar may benefit you? We answer this and many other questions you may have in our Why Go Solar and FAQ section!
