Earth Hour Campaign North-East 2018

Join us for the Walkathon & Cyclothon for the Planet!!

WWF-India AAPSO State Office along with The Youth for Integration organization from Tripura organized a Walkathon with citizens as a part of the Earth Hour promo on 14th of March in Agartala.
On 23rd March at 9:00 AM, WWF-India AAPSO along with Suderashan Public School has organized a Walkathon with 300 students as a promotion for Earth Hour and to spread awareness about the event to reach out to a large number of citizens. It will start at Khanapara school premise.
On 24th March WWF-India AAPSO along with Gauhati University and PedalRoads’ Cycles will be organizing a Cyclothon to start off with Earth Hour celebrations in Guwahati. The Cyclothon will start at 6:00 AM with a group of citizens from SBI Circle Ganeshguri and a flag off will take place. Another group of cyclists will join at Gauhati University which falls in the route of the route of the Cyclothon. All citizens are welcome to join the event.
On 24th evening WWF-India AAPSO will be organizing a program at Central Mall, Guwahati to celebrate the Switch Off moment from 8:00 P.M. to 9:30 P.M. by using solar lights, diyas and candles. Students from schools, colleges and universities of Guwahati will be performing cultural programs on the day to celebrate earth hour. Different private and government organizations’ heads who have pledged to support the “Give Up” campaign of WWF-India have been asked to join in the celebrations at the venue.
In Biswanath Chariali students from Biswanath College will be celebrating Earth Hour by organizing a Cylcothon in the morning and a candlelight vigil in the evening on 24th March to mark the Lights Out moment.
Digboi College in Digboi will be organizing a candle light vigil with the students to celebrate Earth Hour on 24th March in the campus.
Tezpur Central University will be organizing a candle light vigil with the students staying in the hostels and around the campus to mark the occasion from8:30-9:30 P.M on 24th March.
Environmental NGOs from Mangaldoi and Nalbari have partnered with WWF-India AAPSO to switch of lights from 8:30-9:30 P.M to mark the occasion and also to spread awareness about the same amongst the people living there.
