Transport alone accounts for a third of the particulate matter pollution in the world. At the same time, the total number of vehicles on the roads in India is expected to nearly double by 2030. That means severe levels of air pollution and smog, making it directly into our bodies. According to the 2017 Global Burden of Disease, pollution is the fifth leading cause of death in the country, with around 1.1 million people dying prematurely each year in India, from diseases associated with pollution.

Walk or cycle for trips less than a kilometre. It is not just great for the environment but beneficial for your health too.
If you cannot give up on your car completely, give up on diesel vehicles and explore CNG options instead.
Give up your car completely! Walk, cycle, take the bus or metro! It may not be easy, but worth the effort.
